Snotty noses and coughs

I feel like I could be swimming in a pool of snot. It's gross, I know... but with as many snotty noses that I've wiped in the past 3-4 days, it could fill a pool! We have gone through a box and a half of tissues in that time! It never fails that when snotty noses are present there is also a cough. Both girls have this nagging cough that is 198798709809878089 times worse at night. :( So I haven't been getting very much sleep due to that. R is at WLC and working hard. I'm really proud of him and hope he's able to study hard to make the Commandant's List (its like an honor graduate)! The girls are doing very good so far with him being gone! C is telling everyone that "her daddy is far, far away and will be home in two weeks". It cracks me up! While we were outside playing yesterday with our neighbors, A was walking around saying "dada! dada! dada!" nonstop looking for him. Breaks my heart, but he'll be home soon. If he deploys again, these little girls' hearts are going to break. I just hope he's able to do what he needs to hopefully prolong the time until another deployment!

No news is good news!

So not a whole lot is going on aside from the usual stuff day in and day out. We had a very nice trip back home for Easter! It was a whirlwind trip full of visits with my best friend, family pictures, egg hunts, celebrating my youngest sister's birthday, AND my sister got engaged! It was a great trip and though we didn't want to leave we were glad to finally get back home and sleep in our own beds. C is still in part day pre-school, but I have already got her all set up for Pre-K in the fall. Can it be? Am I really going to have a Pre-K'er? I can't be that old! A is growing like a weed and becoming more and more adorable each and every day! R is going to WLC this week for 2ish weeks. I'm so proud of him! I can't wait for him to finish and then be able to get promoted. About a week or so after R gets home, C will have her surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids. Sometime after her surgery, my sister will be coming up to visit for a little bit. She is a nurse, so it'll be nice to have someone help!

We also discovered that C has a food allergy to.... kiwi. Crazy, huh? Apparently it's a very common food allergy for young children. I had no idea, but you learn something new everyday! R is getting snipped a few days after he comes home from WLC. I feel like everyone is having medical things done.... its a tad stressful! I'm hoping he's up to par to help out with the little one while C is recovering from her surgery. All in all, we are living life each day and enjoying it! Lots of playing outside, playing with our siblings, and enjoying each and every day!

Tonsils

My eldest daughter, C, has had some issues for a while now. Upon discussing them with her pediatrician, we discovered that her tonsils are HUGE and a big contributing factor to her issues. So we got a referral to see an ENT about them. Today we had the appointment with the ENT. He was so shocked at the size of her tonsils! He called them "beefy" and "kissing tonsils" (because they touch each other when she opens her mouth). So they are definitely going to take her tonsils and adenoids out. We got a surgery date for about 2 months from now. I'm a little worried at the prospect of my baby going under anesthesia for a procedure, but I know that it will help her SO much in the long run.

Sickies

Once again I feel that I am battling the nasty cold bug that keeps revisiting my household every couple of weeks. Luckily everyone ELSE in my house is sick with it, so far I've escaped unscathed. It would probably help if the weather would make up it's mind and quite flip flopping around! However this week its going to be GORGEOUS! So even if it kills me, we will be spending A LOT of time outside!

Resurrecting my blog!

It's been a LONG while, and so much has happened since I last blogged. R is home from a year long deployment, C turned 4, and A had her first birthday! We have LOVE every second of being a complete family again. Things might be changing for us in the next couple of months... which of course is the  norm for Army life! I'm excited at the prospect of change. We've been in this backwards state for 2 years. The thought of going back to our home state sends chills down my spine! I've been dying to get back there since we left! However, nothing is certain yet... we should know soon if the opportunity is going to work out!

Until then, I'm going to be working on keeping my blog more up to date and updating it more!
